Rachel’s creative journey is deeply influenced by her artistic heritage, as she inherited her passion for art from her talented Papa. Rachel’s work is renowned for its playful, vibrant, and quirky style, often evoking a sense of nostalgia. She describes her art as a unique fusion of Mid-Century Modern flair and the whimsical charm of Bubble O Bill.
Artist Interview
What medium do you work with, and why have you chosen them?
I work with high quality acrylic paint, which allows me to explore a wide range of textures and dynamic movements in my art. I find great joy in experimenting with these elements to bring my creative vision to life.
How does your artwork get from initial concept to exhibition stage?
I begin with a carefully chosen colour palette and then let the geometric shapes (blobs) take on a life of their own, guiding the composition as they embark on their own creative journey.
Can you tell us a little more about your creative working environment/studio?
I create my art from a cosy home studio in Melbourne's inner west. She may be small, but she does the job.
