Artist Interview

What medium do you work with, and why have you chosen them?

I work in mixed media. Particularly hand cut collage. I do this through sourcing ready made materials from magazines and newspapers then making them my own. As well as old magazine cuttings I experiment with spray paint and acrylics within my work. I never felt like my skill I was strong in traditional mediums such as drawing and painting. Yet I always knew I would become an Artist. I was about 19 when I started experimenting with mixed media and one day my style just clicked.

How does your artwork get from initial concept to exhibition stage?

Usually when I feel the panic of a time crunch and conquer my procrastination…

Can you tell us a little more about your creative working environment/studio?

I work wherever I can. I wish I had a studio! Literally spread out the study floor or balcony (when I use spray paints). I need to see all my materials on the ground in order to visualise my works and see which combinations work best.
