Artist Interview

What medium do you work with, and why have you chosen them?

I work with oil and acrylic on canvas for their unique versatility. Acrylic allows for quick layering and dynamic textures, while oil provides depth and richness in color. Together, they let me balance energy and emotion, capturing both the vitality of nature and the introspective elements of abstract art.

How does your artwork get from initial concept to exhibition stage?

My artwork begins with inspiration, often drawn from nature or an emotional response to an experience, such as travel or a significant event. From there, I develop rough sketches or mental images, refining the concept until it feels ready to take shape on canvas. The process involves experimenting with color, texture, and composition, allowing the piece to evolve naturally. Once the painting is complete, I carefully curate a selection of works that align thematically or emotionally for exhibition. Each piece is then prepared for display, ensuring it captures the vision I intended to share with the audience.

Can you tell us a little more about your creative working environment/studio?

My home studio is a bright, inspiring space filled with natural light. The walls showcase my previous works and sketches, creating an energizing atmosphere. Organized areas for my paints, brushes, and canvases ensure easy access to materials. Surrounded by plants and travel mementos, this intimate environment allows me to immerse myself in the creative process without distractions.
