Artist Interview
What medium do you work with, and why have you chosen them?
I work with oil paint primarily because of its depth of colour and buttery consistency, it's dreamy to work with. I also enjoy using collage because there's freedom to experiment with composition without committing to anything immediately. I can rearrange shapes until the piece feels right, the options for an image are endless.
How does your artwork get from initial concept to exhibition stage?
My preparation process is different every time I have a body of work to prepare for an exhibition. Currently, I'm trying out different types of paper and mediums instead of paint. The starting point is always about figuring out the process I want to use. The images always follow.
Can you tell us a little more about your creative working environment/studio?
My studio is a lovely place. It's a repurposed convent with a lot of history. I have a terrazzo floor and quite a few indoor plants which makes it feel homely
