Inspired by nature, the human condition, and the beauty of everyday moments, Sarah’s work is an exploration of both the external world and the internal experience. She enjoys scratching back into her layers of paint, uncovering new textures and forms that reveal hidden dimensions. Through this process, Sarah creates works that are not only visually striking but also rich in emotional resonance. Artist Interview

What medium do you work with, and why have you chosen them?

I generally use a mixed media approach which includes acrylic paint, watercolour, chalk and oil pastels, coloured pencils, acrylic mediums, fabric and anything else I can get my hands on to create a textured and multi layer feel.

How does your artwork get from initial concept to exhibition stage?

My abstract pieces are very spontaneous. My figurative work is usually more planned and starts with concept sketches. Either way, I work on multiple pieces at once, circling back until I sense completion has been reached.

Can you tell us a little more about your creative working environment/studio?

I currently work from a bright little sunroom in my house where I live with my partner, our baby boy Boone, and our mini foxie Darcy. A certain level of creative chaos, shall we say, is reached before I feel the need for a reset tidy up, which only lasts so long before descending into creative chaos once again.
