“My work is a meditation on the everyday—on the quiet, often unnoticed moments that shape our experience of the world. Whether through landscapes, still life, or nocturnal cityscapes, I seek to reveal the poetry in the ordinary, the way light falls on a deserted street, the way objects hold history, or the way a place tells its own story. Ultimately, my work is about presence—about finding depth in the overlooked and meaning in the mundane. It is an invitation to slow down, to notice, and to appreciate the beauty woven into daily life”.
Peter lives and works from the regional city of Ballarat, Victoria.
Artist Interview
What medium do you work with, and why have you chosen them?
I work exclusively in oil paint. Its ability to move and be manipulated on the surface of the canvas is something i've grown accustomed to.
How does your artwork get from initial concept to exhibition stage?
I just see something that resonates – its more instinct than anything else.
Can you tell us a little more about your creative working environment/studio?
My studio will start off pretty organised – then as I work on a piece it will descend into a bit of chaos. Then, when i'm done – i will clean it up – and start the whole process again.
