Artist Interview

What medium do you work with, and why have you chosen them?

I choose oil paints and the impasto technique because they allow me to build texture and depth, mirroring the richness and complexity of nature. The palette knife, with its bold, sweeping motions, empowers me to convey the vibrant, tactile essence of the landscapes and florals that inspire me.

How does your artwork get from initial concept to exhibition stage?

My artwork begins with a basic concept or inspiration drawn from nature—whether it’s a flower, a landscape, or a seascape. I then allow myself the freedom to interpret this inspiration through spontaneous, textured layers of oil paint applied with a palette knife. This impasto technique lets me explore color, form, and depth in an intuitive way. Throughout the process, I constantly balance the external environment with my internal responses, shaping each piece into a dynamic, three-dimensional experience. Once complete, the works are prepared and curated for exhibitions where they can connect with viewers and share their story

Can you tell us a little more about your creative working environment/studio?

My studio is a sanctuary where creativity flows freely—filled with natural light that highlights the rich textures and colors of my impasto paintings. It’s a space designed for experimentation, where the palette knife moves spontaneously across the canvas. Surrounded by inspiring images of nature and a quiet atmosphere, I’m able to immerse myself fully in the process, allowing my internal reflections and external environment to blend seamlessly into each work.
