Artist Interview

What medium do you work with, and why have you chosen them?

I use a few different acrylics; the main reason I use acrylic paint is once I have an idea that excites me, I'm impatient and want to get started straight away!

How does your artwork get from initial concept to exhibition stage?

I'll often walk around the city, have a memory or explore nature for inspiration, once an idea excites me, I'll do a very rough sketch, then transfer the idea to a canvas, letting the choice of colours kind of just happen in the moment, finishing all my artworks with a matte varnish and hiding my signature inside the image. A lot of my artworks are finished in beautiful Australian made frames.

Can you tell us a little more about your creative working environment/studio?

I live on a small once acre property with my hand built studio sitting on top a slight hill surrounded by bushland.
