Artist Interview
What medium do you work with, and why have you chosen them?
Acrylic on canvas, I love the flexibility and vibrancy of good quality acrylic paint. I use a heavyweight canvas, it is a tactile surface, firm but a beautiful softness when applying paint.
How does your artwork get from initial concept to exhibition stage?
I have my visual diary nearby, and will often sketch out or even scribble words to help develop concepts for the next collection. The colours I use are often instinctual and reflective of my mood or the music I am listening to at the time.
Can you tell us a little more about your creative working environment/studio?
My studio is a small shed in my backyard, we sit at the top of a small hill and the shed is surrounded by trees, so when my music is not playing, I am surrounded by bird sounds.

Though, my studio space does not have a natural light source we have had lighting installed throughout so I have the ability to 'control' the light on my still lifes.
