Henza Taj is a self taught abstract artist based in Geelong, Victoria.
His artwork is inspired by creating paintings of faces or similar, that attract and entice the wonders of obscured expression through experimental brush strokes and colour.
A unique and distinctive style could best describe the artwork by conveying human emotion and interest. Practising art at a later stage of life, was a natural transformation into painting. Capturing a style through life experiences has lead Henza to tell a story that empowers a solid, but obscured journey through the paint brush onto canvas.
Artist Interview
What medium do you work with, and why have you chosen them?
I work best with acrylic on canvas as it lets me work fluently with the creative process whilst having an abundance of colour.
How does your artwork get from initial concept to exhibition stage?
Starting with a background and letting the natural process begin with experimental brush strokes before slowly finding the best expression in the subject that I’m proud of.
Can you tell us a little more about your creative working environment/studio?
I work from the home, as I believe this is where creativity occurs when you can be in a comfortable space.
