Nicole paints because she often feels there are no words to describe the sense of awe a particular scene inspires.
Her style incorporates abstraction and disruption within realism to convey this feeling beyond what is purely photo realism. This style is best described as ‘Disrupted Realism’ and she is one of the artists representing this style in the international book ‘More Disruption’ by John Seed.
She holds a BA Fine Art Degree with Honours from The National Art School and has been exhibiting for many years with paintings held internationally.

What medium do you work with, and why have you chosen them?
Mixed Media as it offers so much versatility and room for exploration.
How does your artwork get from initial concept to exhibition stage?
My preliminary work uses collage as a way of exploring different combinations. These studies are then used as the basis for final paintings.
Can you tell us a little more about your creative working environment/studio?
I have a dedicated studio space at home.
