Thais Fragoso was born and raised in Brazil and has been living in Australia for the past eight years. Her foundation in the arts began at the esteemed UFMG, where she pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design and embarked on studies in Interior Design. This institution sculpted her skills, offering a curriculum steeped in both classical and modern art. It was here that she honed her understanding of color theory and experimented with textures, laying the groundwork for her specialization in large-scale artwork.
Through her work, Thais Fragoso carries a rich cultural influence, evident in the vibrant hues that permeate her creations. Focused on the profound impact of color and its combinations on visual well-being, her slow progress evokes a sense of harmony and joy. What medium do you work with, and why have you chosen them?
Acrylic and oil. Because together they create a unique texture.
How does your artwork get from initial concept to exhibition stage?
Painting has always been a passion that became so intense that it needed to become my primary focus of work.
Can you tell us a little more about your creative working environment/studio?
The colors in my work vary greatly with the seasons. I am completely driven by the sensations that the temperature evokes in humans.
